Helping Canadians solve their traffic ticket problems for 20 Years
A person is required to remain at or return immediately at the scene of an accident as a witness, whether or not he or she is directly involved. Personal information is to be provided, such as name and address, driver’s license number and jurisdiction, vehicle insurer and policy number, name and address of registered vehicle owner, and permit number. Refusing to give information would make a person guilty of failing to remain – an extremely serious charge resulting in penalties such as heightened fines, demerit points, suspensions of driver’s license and jail time.
A failure to remain conviction will stay on the driver’s abstract for three years, further hampering the driver’s record and any other privileges he/she enjoys.
